Sakura Girls Secondary School is run by Sakura Vision Tanzania, a Tanzanian government registered NGO chaired by Frida Michael Tomita, and it is jointly run by Group Kilimanjaro, INC. in Japan chaired by Sumiko Iwao.
Sakura Girls Secondary School offers four years of education from grade eight through grade eleven. Each class consists of 50 students. We will eventually have two additional higher grade levels with the same number of available learning slots.

On January 23, 2016 the Sakura Girls Secondary School has been opened. Sky was high and the main guests are Japanese Ambassador, Mr. M. Yoshida, Mr. Nagase of JICA and Mr. Ichikawa of Mitsubishi Trading Company with over 200 guests of Tanzanian government and dignitaries. Students are wearing ribbon of Sakura color and looked very hopeful. After the ceremony memorial plantation of Yokosakura has been done. They are glowing well and after a month lots of green leaves appearing.
